Yes. Noma Nation Orientation is required for all incoming undergraduate students (Freshmen and Transfers). Freshmen admitted to EOP participate in Summer Bridge instead; Transfers admitted to EOP are still required to attend. If you were previously enrolled at SSU and more than two years have passed, you’ll need to attend Orientation again.

Freshmen admitted to EOP participate in Summer Bridge instead of Noma Nation Orientation. Transfers admitted to EOP are required to attend Noma Nation Orientation.

The $105 Enrollment Reservation Deposit (ERD) includes the Noma Nation Orientation fee, which is non-refundable. Freshmen and Transfers may register guests for an additional fee. A separate Parents & Families track is available only during Freshmen Orientation. At Transfer Orientation, registered guests may accompany their student throughout the day, except during sessions held in computer labs.

Yes. Noma Nation Orientation is an in-person program. If you need to request an exception, please contact Noma Nation Orientation by email at orientation@sonoma.edu or call (707) 664-4464.

If you’d like disability-related accommodations for Orientation, complete the Orientation Accommodation Request Form. A staff member from Disability Services for Students (DSS) will follow up to formalize your request and work with you to provide the best possible Orientation experience.

The University does not offer overnight housing during Orientation. See our Directions, Hotels & Transportation page for more information about local lodging.

Submit any outstanding official transcripts and exam scores as early as possible so SSU has more time to review them before Orientation. For Transfers, college transcripts help determine how prior coursework applies to degree requirements and which courses you can take. For Freshmen, AP/IB exam scores and any college coursework completed through dual enrollment or elsewhere may affect the courses you should take. Request official AP/IB score reports through the testing agencies, and submit official transcripts for any college coursework.

For information on submitting transcripts, including deadlines, visit How to Submit Your Transcripts. Review and posting times vary, so some records may not be available when you register at Orientation, even if you submit them early.

The Orientation fee is non-refundable. Please contact Orientation at orientation@sonoma.edu and we will update your student account.
